COVID Guidelines
At the Union Church in Waban we are committed to gathering safely in a way that shows our love and care for our neighbors. During this pandemic, our leadership team has been working closely with medical and other consultants to respond to the changing nature of the virus, case numbers, and community needs.
We currently gather every Sunday at 10am for HYBRID worship, which means we will gather both in-person in our Sanctuary and on Zoom. For those who choose to worship in-person, some of our precautions include (for access to our full guidelines please contact our pastors at [email protected] or [email protected]):
- Masking inside the building is currently optional. It is always OK to wear a mask
- Hepa filtration units throughout the sanctuary
- Availability of hand-sanitizer and masks
- All pastoral and other staff are up-to-date on vaccinations
We do encourage those who are under the weather not to attend live in person services, but to utilize the remote option instead. It is important to state that while the church invested in upgraded filters for the sanctuary, the SARS-CoV-2 virus will still be able to spread at church, and that congregants should take that into consideration in their choices.
Finally, anyone feeling unwell, anyone recently exposed, and anyone recovering from COVID within the last 10-14 days should refrain from singing without a mask.
We hope these guidelines are helpful in keeping us together as a faith community and empowering individual choices to do so.
